UWT GmbH was founded in 1978 as a family enterprise by proprietors Peter and Gerda Schropp in Kempten/Allgäu. It was not forseeable then that UWT GmbH would successfully establish itself as an additional corporation in the field of level measurement technique for bulk goods. The corporation developed continuously through consistent action, determination and reliability.
 

Growing market shares and continuing company expansion lead to the employment of a steady growing work force. Thus in 1988 the company moved into a newly built production and administration facility in Kempten/Betzigau.
